Overview

Sun Day Don is a fictional breakfast brand that celebrates early sunny mornings. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, a fun and appealing brand was created to attract children while being healthy and beneficial. Two prototypes for the brand were developed: a cylindrical label for an oatmeal container and a carton for almond milk. I also created testimonial print ads and social media content to promote the brand further.

Brand Strategy

Sun Day Don is built on the idea that breakfast should be joyful, energizing, and something kids look forward to every morning. To bring this vision to life, the brand uses a cheerful mascot, Don the Rooster, to create an engaging and welcoming personality. Don represents the excitement of starting the day right, encouraging children and families to embrace breakfast as the fuel that powers them through their adventures. The messaging focuses on positivity and empowerment, reinforcing the importance of a wholesome breakfast. Through playful storytelling, vibrant visuals, and engaging content, Sun Day Don inspires a love for mornings and fosters healthy eating habits. The brand consistently delivers a fresh, friendly, and natural tone that makes breakfast feel fun and essential.

Visual Identity

The Sun Day Don logo features hand-lettered typography with sun-ray accents, reinforcing the brand’s love for early mornings. A subtle rooster silhouette is incorporated into the design, offering a playful nod to the brand mascot. Don the Rooster appears in four distinct poses for versatile brand use. The color palette blends three warm tones, two cool shades, and a complementary brown, drawing inspiration from the vibrant hues of sunrises and sunsets. This palette enhances the brand’s cheerful and natural aesthetic. To maintain a friendly and approachable feel, I selected rounded sans-serif typefaces. Museo and Brandon Grotesque provide a flexible range of weights, ensuring consistency and readability across various brand materials.
